SINDIWE MAGONA 2023: SCHOLARLY CONFERENCE
The Sindiwe Magona 2023: Scholarly Conference, held on the 12th to 14th of April 2023 was a hybrid conference to honor the 80th year of this formidable writer by featuring academic panels with scholars from Africa, North America, Europe and beyond as well as plenary presentations from Mamphele Ramphele, Antjie Krog and Sindiwe Magona herself. Since 1992, Dr. Magona has published four novels, two collections of short stories, two autobiographies, four plays, one collection of poetry, over 30 essays and more than 130 children's books (making her one of the most prolific writers of children's literature in South Africa).
